For several years Macarthur Personnel has worked with a number of businesses that have employed people with a disability. Following are businesses that employ a person with a disability, including some testimonials.

The Hyde Park Inn

The Hyde Park Inn has 94 rooms over 15 storeys and is located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD with views overlooking Hyde Park. We feature two purpose built and BCA approved disabled rooms as well as offering disabled access to all floors and the restaurant.

Backed by the support of our Housekeeping Supervisor I decided to look for people who due to their disability may have trouble finding regular and on-going employment. Knowing the opportunity of being trained in the important area of housekeeping would present an excellent opportunity should they be able to meet the challenges of learning a new role.

By utilising Macarthur Personnel’s database, selection procedures and training support services I am pleased to say that we have employed 16 people with a disability since 2002, six of them still working and all of them are very suitable, housekeeping staff.

Whilst the training of people with a disability has required a considerable amount of extra effort by our supervisor and MDS support staff, the results so far have been very satisfactory. It is my intention, should the business continue to expand, to employ further such staff members into the team at the Hyde Park Inn.

Bringelly Nursery
