Macarthur Disability Services believes people with a disability should be fully included in the Australian workforce and we are excited to introduce Livelihood to South Western Sydney. Livelihood is a specialised workplace-based training program that is designed to break down barriers, empowering people with a disability to find and keep a mainstream job - by preparing for work, through work.
By actively participating in Livelihood’s program, you will gain valuable employment skills and paid award wage experience along your journey to reach your employment goals. As you become job-ready, Livelihood will leverage our extensive network of employers to assist in securing open employment that aligns with your career aspirations.
Livelihood prepares you for work, through work at our Ingleburn hub, easily accessible by public transport.
Training and work experience
Learn 20 transferable capabilities based on the Government employment framework competencies i.e. prioritisation, flexibility, problem solving, professional communication etc. and put them into practice through work experience.
Award wage employment experience
Become eligible for a 12-month paid traineeship once you have demonstrated the 20 capabilities and earn an award wage for working a few days a week in a Livelihood hub, and further develop skills in preparation for transition into open employment.
Transition to open employment
When you’re job-ready, Livelihood will provide disability training to employers and ongoing support to both the employee and employer for success in the workplace.
